On January 17, 2025, the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Honourable Brenda Mwika Tambatamba, commended the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) Board of Trustees for their exemplary performance over their three-year term. She highlighted the fund's growth from K54 billion in 2021 to K87 billion in 2024, noting that with the K10 billion paid out in pre-retirement lump sum benefits, the total fund value effectively reached K97 billion. The Minister emphasized NAPSA's significant contributions to national economic challenges, citing investments such as the $300 million Lusaka-Ndola Road upgrade and the $200 million expansion of Maamba Energies. Outgoing Board Chairperson Mr. Shipango Muteto expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the Minister's support. NAPSA's Director General pledged to continue building on the strong foundation laid by the Board, aiming to grow the fund to K100 billion by 2026.
