Ministry of Labour and Social Security Staff Bid Farewell to Hon. Brenda Mwika Tambatamba

Staff from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and its institutions hosted a farewell luncheon in honour of Labour and Social Security Minister, Brenda Mwika Tambatamba.

The gathering brought together management and members of staff from across the Ministry and its affiliated institutions in a show of appreciation for the Minister’s leadership, dedication, and service to the labour and social security sector during her tenure.

Speaking during the luncheon, representatives from the Ministry and its institutions paid tribute to Hon. Tambatamba’s commitment to promoting workers’ welfare, strengthening labour relations, and advancing social security reforms aimed at improving the lives of Zambians.

They noted that under her leadership, the Ministry continued to champion policies and programmes focused on decent work, social protection, occupational safety and health, as well as increased stakeholder engagement within the labour sector.

Staff also commended the Minister for her approachable leadership style, encouragement of teamwork, and continued support to institutions operating under the Ministry, which helped foster collaboration and service delivery.

In her remarks, Hon. Tambatamba expressed gratitude to the staff for the support rendered to her during her time in office. She acknowledged the collective efforts of management and employees across the Ministry and its institutions in implementing government programmes and delivering services to the people of Zambia.

The Minister encouraged staff to remain committed to professionalism, integrity, and excellence in service delivery, noting that the work of the Ministry remains critical to protecting workers and strengthening social security for citizens across the country.

She further urged officers to continue working together in advancing the Ministry’s mandate and supporting national development efforts.

The farewell luncheon was marked by heartfelt messages, presentations, and moments of reflection as staff celebrated the Minister’s contribution and wished her well in her future endeavors.
