Age Benefit 50- Members who have attained age 50 are eligible to claim for age Benefit at 50.
- Members are eligible for age Benefit whether in employment or not.
Retirement Benefit- Members who joined the scheme before 1st April, 1973 are eligible to claim for Retirement Benefits at 45.
- Member must be out of employment
- Retirement Benefit is only payable once
Physical Disability Benefit - Member should produce a letter from the employer confirming that the member was retired, discharged on medical grounds.
- Member can demand for Physical Disability if the disability was developed whilst the member was still in employment or out of employment as long as the claimant is incapable of working.
- Member should produce a letter from a medical doctor certifying the member’s incapacity to work.
- Medical doctor must complete Part 6 of the claim form.
Mental Disability Benefit- Need for a letter from a certified medical practitioner certifying that the member is mentally incapacitated.
- Claim is paid to nominee since member would be unable to handle the transactions.
- To support claim, the claimant should attach a court order from a magistrate court indicating that he has been appointed to manage member affairs.
- Nominee must produce a letter from the member’s employer confirming that the member was discharged on grounds of mental incapacity.
- Nominee must complete NPF 32 M (Mental Incapacity) form.
Emigration Benefit- Member should produce a letter from last employer confirming member’s intention to migrate.
- In case of a Zambian National, proof of having denounced the Zambian Citizenship should be attached.
- A Certified Copy of the member’s National Registration Card should be attached.
Home Ownership Withdrawal Benefit - Home ownership withdrawal benefit is meant for members who intend to purchase a dwelling house or erect one. Anything else such as purchase of a plot, renovations and construction of a wall fence is barred.
- NPF pays a minimum of 12 months contribution.
- NPF only pays up to 5 years or 60 contributions maximum.
- Member must complete NPF 38C form.
- Original NRC letter of offer from Vendor and other needed documents must be closely examined to establish their authenticity.
Supplementary Savings - No age restriction for this benefit.
- If benefit claimed before reaching the
- age of 45/50 (Retirement), benefit is
- Subjected to 10% tax.
- Member / Claimant to provide certified
- Copy of NRC.
Survivors Benefit - A Certified Copy of the Death Certificate or any other authentic document attesting to the death of the member should be submitted.
- Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate of the surviving spouse if surviving spouse is the claimant.
- Certified Copy of Administratorship plus receipt for the same document if the claimant is not the spouse of the deceased.
- Certified Copies of the National Registration Card’s for both the deceased member and claimant.
- Under Zambia National Provident Fund Act, this benefit is only supposed to be paid to the spouse, and the administrator only comes in where there is no surviving spouse.
- Claimant must complete NPF 35 (Survivor’s Claim) form
